Elsie Pie’s Last Month

These photos tell the more or less chronological story of Elsie Pie’s last month. We are heartbroken at the loss of our sweet Pie.

Exactly one week before she died, a rainbow appeared over Pie palace

The last pic of Elsie Pie

We love you, sweetest girl.

    1. That’s such a kind comment. Thank you, Petra. It’s been such a shock for me and Meg, but perhaps you’re right. Perhaps she did know she was going. I love the thought of her chasing hares and everyone listening to my little Pie, who always had so much to say! Thank you!
      Sending love and hugs,
      Meg and Clare ❤️

  6. Clare, what a wonderful set of photos. Elsie Pie’s spirit shines through in each one of them. I am so sorry for your loss. Meg, take care of your mum, ‘K? And Elsie Pie run free and live it up at the Bridge girlfriend!

    xoxo,
Martha, Codie Rae and the OP

    1. Thank you, Martha. I don’t doubt little Pie is living it up, eating non stop – I bet they’ve had to restock the Rainbow bridge pantry a dozen times over… having the photos is a comfort to us. Thank you for dropping by.

  7. I wanted to tell you how very sorry I am to read about your Elsie Pie. You have captured her spirit so beautifully in your photos and videos and writing and I think we all feel as though we know her. Thank you for that, what a gift to share your girl with us. How lovely for you to know that you know every bit of her, that her memory will live on through all of us and especially through you and Meg who loved her best. My heart hurts for you but I find it hard not to smile at these pictures because I have smiled at every picture of The Pie 🥧 since I first saw her.
Please know we are thinking of you and Meg and wishing healing and fondest memories for you both.
    With much Love,
    Amy & Mister Rusty Bucket

    1. This is so lovely, Amy. Thank you. I am so happy Miss Pie made you smile and that she still does. You are right, it is lovely to know that her memory will live on in the kind hearts of wonderful people like you.

  8. Miss Pie, your expressions that you wore in your earthly body were priceless. What precious memories to have so many photos of your last month, they are treasured keepsakes.

We too were shattered to bits when you transitioned on, it’s hard to imagine how your own momma and Meg are doing. We are deeply sorry.

    1. Thank you, Jerry. She was a very expressive Pie, and you’re right, it is a great comfort to have so many photos. She didn’t always think much of me taking them, but I am so pleased now that I did. Thank you for all your love and support.
      Meg and Clare ❤️

  9. oh Clare, I just saw this post – missed it at the time. I was looking for Meg’s liver cake recipe (which I found) for someone’s upcoming birthday.

Now I’m crying all over again. I’m so glad that you have as many pictures of the Pie face as you do – so expressive, so Pie!
hugs to you (and the Meg-a-star of course!)
    love
    Teri
